WELCOME to the Employment Law Forum of California.

The purpose of the Forum is to provide employers and employees with general information related to frictions and controversies that occur in the workplace.

The Forum is not an all-encompassing research site on issues related to employment law.  If it were, we would have to impose access charges to recoup site production and maintenance costs.  The site is designed to provide basic information on selected issues that arise in the workplace.  Our goal is to provide you with enough information to develop a basic understanding of your problem and see how the law might deal with it.

We were one of the first California law firms on the Internet, back in 1996.  Since that time some subjects discussed have included: wrongful termination, breach of contract, business torts, trade secret theft, wrongful demotion, discrimination issues, wage payments and claims, Labor Code violations, noncompete and nonsolicitation agreements ["right to work" issues], unemployment, workers' compensation, and union matters.

Since 1996 we have also discussed various dispute resolution methods, including federal and state litigation, arbitration, mediation and appeals.  Additionally, we have helped employers and employees understand and deal with the multitude of employment related administrative agencies such as the California Department of Industrial Relations [Labor Commissioner], the Department of Fair Employment and Housing, and the Employment Development Department [EDD.]
